The day began with a visit to the Pennekamp State Park for snorkeling. Though the weather was cloudy and the water was a bit cold, we saw a lot of cool stuff on the reef.
Yay for all kinds of fishies!
After snorkeling we drove further south and took in the sights, finally taking a break and having lunch/dinner at the restaurant Lazy Days. the food was... a bit expensive, but it was soooo good!
After that we ended our day at Anne's Beach in Islamorada. While the water was too shallow for swimming for me, it's a pretty awesome beach. There's a walkway that connects a bunch of pavilions with picnic benches under them, and most of them are right by the water. Next summer I am so dragging a bunch of my friends down there to have a day-long picnic/hangout/beach day.
This particular pavilion was my favorite since it was a ways off the walkway (there were steps on the walkway that brought you to the ground, and then you followed a little path to this particular pavilion). That plus that tree hangs right over the oceanwater... so awesome!
Whoot panarama! Courtesy of my new phone. I didn't even know it could do things like this. But in any case, this is the view one of the other pavilions gets... isn't it awesome? To the side there are stairs that lead you to the beach.
So that was my Sunday... definitely one of my best!
